First Man

THE GIST: A look at the life of Neil Armstrong, both at home with his family and at work for NASA, where he prepares to become the first man to walk on the Moon.

First Man is brilliant director Damien Chazelle's third excellent motion picture in a row, following Whiplash and La La Land.

His attention to detail and deliberate pacing here help build the necessary tension and pathos.

Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy are fantastic, along with Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Christopher Abbott, and Ciarán Hinds.

THE BOTTOM LINE: A beautifully shot drama with Academy Award winning visual effects, this is definitely not to be missed.
