THE GIST: The funeral of Annie's mother is soon followed by another tragedy. Then, odd events start hounding her family. What is really going on?

Hereditary is an incredible breath of fresh air in a horror genre whose offerings all too often feels stale and rehashed.

Toni Collette is fantastic as usual, and we get great performances from Alex Wolff, Gabriel Byrne, Milly Shapiro, and Ann Dowd.

THE BOTTOM LINE: If you like horror movies, definitely check this out. It's at times a bit jarring, but overall a worthy ride.
