The kids love the book on which this movie is based, so we took them to the theater, but I seemed to be the one who enjoyed this the most.While I was at first a little taken aback by the rough animation style (stop animation), which is radically different from what one is now used to with Pixar's style of sleek and polished computer animation, I quickly grew to love it. It actually felt fresh, totally realistic, and very life like.
The story is witty and sweet and there's a lot of action, so there's something for everybody. The movie is well written, well directed and well acted, which is the perfect trifecta.
A nice little animated gem.
