THE GIST: James White is a hedonistic young man who lives a carefree existence without worrying about the future or anyone else. That all changes when his mother is diagnosed with cancer and he has to go back home to care for her.James White is a good movie about a topic that isn't easy to talk about (or watch) when it's dealt with in such stern, raw tones.
Still, Cynthia Nixon and Christopher Abbott give unforgettable performances in their roles of mother and son.
THE BOTTOM LINE: A tough subject and excellent performances make for one good, if uneasy, movie.
