THE GIST: After a bank heist in Argentina turns bloody, a trio of robbers flee to Uruguay, where they go into hiding waiting for one of them to recover from his injuries. The passage of time, however, creates friction and heightened anxiety among the men, two of whom are also lovers.Burnt Money is a both a cool thriller and a well crafted, passionate, albeit forbidden, love story. The fact that the script is based on real events only adds to its relatability and gives it more credence.
Leonardo Sbaraglia, Eduardo Noriega, and Pablo Echarri are all very good.
THE BOTTOM LINE: The sweet-but-doomed love story would be enough to make this movie interesting. The bank robbery and following escape just add to the bottom line.
