Sack the First Amendment!

Incredible what this administration gets away with. Bush has ordered FEMA to stop the press from going in New Orleans (or anywhere in the disaster area) and take pictures of the deceased as they are recovered.
The U.S. government agency leading the rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina said on Tuesday it does not want the news media to take photographs of the dead as they are recovered from the flooded New Orleans area.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, heavily criticized for its slow response to the devastation caused by the hurricane, rejected requests from journalists to accompany rescue boats as they went out to search for storm victims.
They obviously want to hide the gruesome images of death that America deserves to see. They know they screwed up, they know it's hurt their image in the public's mind, and now they're trying to avoid the situation from getting worse. I mean their situation though, not the victims', Gob forbid.

Has the mainstream media forgotten that there is a First Amendment in this country that guarantees freedom of speech? It sure looks like it, since no one is screaming Bloody murder!!
