THE GIST: Banished by his wealthy father to be the new postman of the faraway frozen wasteland of Smeerensburg, because of his ineptitude and snootiness, Jesper is desperate to rejoin society. A chance encounter with an old recluse named Klaus, who makes toys in his spare time, marks the beginning of an unlikely friendship, from which a beloved Christmas tradition takes hold.

After the countless movies made about Christmas and Santa Claus, you wouldn't think there'd be anything left to tell, and then Klaus comes along and even snags a Best Animated Feature Film Oscar nomination!

The story feels very original and is well written, the voice over work is top notch, and the animation well done.

THE BOTTOM LINE: If you're looking for a good tale about Christmas that the whole family can enjoy, look no further!
