Trolls

THE GIST: The Trolls are the happiest creatures who ever lived: all they do is hug and sing and play. The Bergens, who are always miserable, decide to eat them to be happy themselves. To survive, the Trolls flee, but one day they're discovered and a few are captured. It is then up to their future Queen to rescue her friends.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie. It was fairly successful at the box office and the critics didn't pan it, so I figured it would be safe.

The first half is very flashy but hardly memorable. It's only when the stakes become more serious that the movie becomes more interesting.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Trolls isn't anywhere near the top as far as best animated movies ever made go, but it will certainly delight the little ones, and at its core it has a very important message that is always worth remembering.
