Halloween II

THE GIST: After surviving the attempt on her life, Laurie Strode, traumatized and in therapy, struggles to live a normal life. Michael Myers's body was never found and is presumed dead. In truth, he's been recovering in the wilderness, sinking deeper and deeper into his psychoses. Time has now come for another family reunion.

After successfully reimagining Carpenter's classic with his own Halloween, Rob Zombie whips up a sequel that is a bit of a letdown.

The interesting additional information about the reasons behind Michael's madness that so enriched his first chapter now feel overstretched.

Considering the extremely poor sequels the original got, however, this is definitely a step above. Let's just say that a lot more work seems to have gone into planning this sequel out and it shows.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Unless you were appalled by Zombie's re-invention of the horror slasher, you should moderately enjoy this continuation of the saga.
