Dumbo

THE GIST: Newborn elephant Dumbo's enormous ears make him the laughingstock of a struggling traveling circus, until it's discovered that he can use his huge ears to fly. Then, he becomes an overnight sensation, attracting the attention of a rich, unscrupulous entrepreneur, who makes him the main attraction of his new park. Something sinister might be hiding behind that shiny veneer though.

Disney's live-action remake of the well-known story of Dumbo is pleasing enough to be entertaining and certainly well made, with a small elephant that looks all too real.

That doesn't mean that it's a great movie though, as it will likely soon be forgotten once the end credits start rolling.

THE BOTTOM LINE: You can hardly go wrong with Disney products when it comes to entertaining the little ones, and their live-action remakes are often as magical as the original animated films. Still, this one isn't for the history books.
