Long Shot

THE GIST: Fred Flarsky is a freelance journalist with a knack for getting in trouble. Secretary of State Charlotte Field is one of the most influential and powerful women in the world. Back in the day, she used to be his sitter and childhood crush. They stumble into one another when she's getting ready to announce her run for the Presidency and she decides to hire him as her speechwriter. Eventually, in between diplomatic appearances and campaign events, sparks fly.

Long Shot is a thoroughly enjoyable romantic comedy with a side of political intrigue and a couple thrilling action scenes.

Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen light up the screen and have great chemistry together.

THE BOTTOM LINE: This probably won't make anyone's list of top ten movies of the year, but it's hardly your ordinary comedy. I found it funny and well made. Two thumbs up!
