THE GIST: Right after a family moves into a dilapidated old farmhouse, nefarious occurrences push them to seek the help of Ed and Lorraine Warren, well known paranormal investigators. Lorraine, a psychic, immediately feels the presence of some demonic being that might need to be exorcised.The Conjuring represents our introduction to Ed and Lorraine Warren, and it's a successful one, with a well written script, very good performances, and enough well placed scares to make this a good horror movie.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, two actors well known for their talent are an excellent casting choice.
Lili Taylor and Ron Livingston, other two seriously good actors, are excellent supporting players.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Definitely recommended for both the occasional viewer and the horror fan. By the way, there are sequels.
