Finally some good news for gays and lesbians come out of California.

The Supreme Court has ruled that:
Under the 2003 revision of the state domestic partner law, the Legislature explicitly stated that it intended to equalize the legal status of committed same-sex couples and married heterosexuals. As such, the court ruled, the two institutions must be given identical weight.
Isn't that great?!

And isn't that so simple and basic that we shouldn't have to go to court to have it acknowledged?
