The Gist: Merida is a young, proud, and rambunctious princess who refuses to bow to her position's traditional demands and follow in her mother's footsteps. After a heated argument between the two, Merida runs away and gets a witch to put a spell on her mom. The result is not what she had in mind though, so Merida will have to find a way to fix the situation before it's too late.
Brave is a very well made animation film by Disney that features a strong female lead and a well balanced story.
The animation is excellent, especially Merida's signature red locks, which are a particularly challenging aspect of animation to render well.
The Bottom Line: I found Brave to be a very entertaining movie that should please the whole family. The strong female character also offers a nice confidence booster in case there is a little girl in your midst.
