The Gist: Mike is the main attraction in a male strip club. He doesn't mind the job, but understands it cannot be forever, so he's saving up for the future and trying to diversify. At his day-job, he meets Adam, a very handsome, hotheaded guy who is wooed into Mike's nighttime world over the concerns of his sister, who seems to be falling for Mike herself.Magic Mike is based on star Channing Tatum's own early life experiences and as such, he's perfect for the part. He is flanked by a parade of hot guys who are also perfectly cast, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, and Joe Manganiello.
The Bottom Line: Magic Mike is a rather well-made movie, considering the subject matter, so much so that they even made a sequel (can you believe I haven't seen it yet!?!?). It has a nice score, plenty of eye candy, and a functional story to support it. All in all, good popcorn entertainment.
