The Gist: A young socialite, wildly in love with life, starts having severe headaches and is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Scared and devastated, she has surgery and falls in love with the doctor who saves her life, but it turns out that the tumor is destined to come back.Bette Davis, one of my favorite actresses, is at the top of her game in what at first looks like a lighter comedy but quickly turns into a dark drama.
While I'm not a big fan of Humphrey Bogart, he's actually well cast as the unheeded love interest.
The Bottom Line: Dark Victory is one of my favorite Bette Davis' movies. She's great in it and the story is heartbreaking
