Bad Times at the El Royale

THE GIST: Straddling the California/Nevada border, the hotel El Royale was once a hot spot, but is now mostly forgotten. One day, four travelers arrive to check in. They each have their reasons to be there, and they all have their secrets. The hotel seems to have its own secrets though, and slowly each guest's story starts weaving in and out of everyone else's.

Watching Bad Times at the El Royale turned out to be a really good time.

The awesome cast includes Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Chris Hemsworth, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, Nick Offerman, Xavier Dolan, Shea Whigham, and Mark O'Brien.

The real gem here though is the screenplay, written by director Drew Goddard.

THE BOTTOM LINE: This movie's story is a real mental trip, one that I enjoyed immensely going on.
