Beautiful Boy

THE GIST: Father and son David and Nic love and care for one another a lot. Unfortunately, Nic is a heavy drug user and his addiction results in frequent visits to rehabs, leading to emotional rollercoasters for him and his family.

Beautiful Boy is a warts and all movie about love and addiction and what that addiction does to those who take the drugs and those who try to help them.

It is not an easy movie to watch, especially if your life has been touched by drugs in some way.

Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet are magnificent in two of their best performances ever. Also starring, Maura Tierney, Jack Dylan Grazer, Stefanie Scott, Amy Aquino, Timothy Hutton, and Amy Ryan.

THE BOTTOM LINE: A touching story made all the more relevant because it's based on the relationship of a real life father and son.
