War Dogs

THE GIST: Eager for a higher income, especially now that his girlfriend is pregnant, David decides to join his old buddy Efraim's company, which essentially bids on the US military's arms sales contracts linked to the war on terror. When they land a huge contract, the initial euphoria for having made it to the big league quickly sours, as the duo realizes they might have gotten in cahoots with some very unsavory and scrupleless individuals.

Miles Teller and Jonah Hill give life to these two characters, who are based on real people. Yes, all we see portrayed in War Dogs actually happened, whether dramatized or not, including the scamming of the US government and military... at our expenses.

Then again, is it really that surprising with all the stories in the news about Blackwater and similar companies?

What is surprising is perhaps that both of them made it out alive.

THE BOTTOM LINE: An interesting and at times upsetting drama, with good acting and lots of action.
