The Possession of Hannah Grace

THE GIST: After a stint in rehab, Megan, a former cop, gets a job as the lone overnight assistant in a hospital morgue. One night, she takes delivery of the mangled corpse of a young woman who died during an alleged exorcism. Megan sets out to work on the body when odd things start happening; then, she gets the feeling that she's not alone anymore. Is the presence human or otherworldly?

The Possession of Hannah Grace is a mystery/horror that seems to rehash many tropes of the genre, but it still manages to pack a few good scares.

Shay Mitchell is actually pretty good in a role that's not the usual terrified girl, but rather shows strengths as well. Kirby Johnson, Nick Thune, and Louis Herthum also star.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Don't expect any reinvention of the genre, but if you go in just for some good jumps you'll get plenty.
