Murder on the Orient Express

THE GIST: When a passenger on the famous Orient Express is found murdered, world-renowned detective Hercule Poirot is tasked with finding the culprit. With a multitude of clues pointing in different directions, he will have to work hard to solve the case.

Murder on the Orient Express is an remake of the 1974 adaptation of Agatha Christie's famous story. It's a well-made movie that nonetheless lacks some of the charm of its predecessor.

Kenneth Branagh stars as Poirot and directed as well. The stellar cast includes Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad, Johnny Depp, Derek Jacobi, Michelle Pfeiffer, Judi Dench, Olivia Colman, and Willem Dafoe.

THE BOTTOM LINE: I would recommend watching the original over this version, but either is fine because Christie's work is timeless. A great murder mystery.
