Bohemian Rhapsody

THE GIST
: A Heathrow Airport baggage handler with an incredible vocal range sees an opportunity to make a name for himself when a local band is looking for a new singer. In a short period of time, the band Queen, led by the charismatic and mercurial Freddy Mercury, becomes one of the most successful and celebrated acts of all time.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a really entertaining and greatly made biographical movie about one of the most loved and talked about artists of all time, who led his band to unparalleled levels of success.

Freddy Mercury was a unique artist with the rarest of vocal ranges whose persona and ideas could hardly be contained, restricted, or mollified by a record label, society, his family, or even his band mates.

Winner of a Best Lead Actor Oscar for his incredible transformation into Freddy Mercury, Rami Malek leads a great cast that includes Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aidan Gillen, Allen Leech, Tom Hollander, and Mike Myers.

The film was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar and actually won Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Sound Editing.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Greatly entertaining for anyone, this is a must-see for any Freddy Mercury or Queen fan.

Grade: 8.5
