The Dark Knight Rises

The Gist: Years after taking the blame for Harvey Dent's crimes in order to prevent Gotham from imploding under their weight, Batman has virtually disappeared and Bruce Wayne lives a secluded life in a rebuilt Wayne Manor. However, Wayne's hand is forced when Bane attacks Gotham, promising to destroy it, and Batman reappears. With few allies left to lend support, he seeks Selina Kyle (Catwoman)'s assistance, even though he's unsure of her loyalty and reliability.

The Dark Knight Rises completes Christopher Nolan's trilogy on the Batman with a whopper. Just like its predecessors, it's big, bold, loud, high-octane entertainment with tons of action and great visual effects.

Christian Bale once again awesomely dons the caped crusader suit, this time flanked by Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in a role that's surprisingly fitting.

Tom Hardy, playing bad-du-jour Bane, is scary good. Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine round up an excellent supporting cast.

The Bottom Line: Needless to say, if you're a fan or simply watched the previous two chapters, this is a must-see, and if you haven't watched them, then you owe it to yourself to do so, because Nolan's work is always top notch.
