THE GIST: One night, a deputy stumbles upon a blood-soaked man on a deserted, rural road and takes him to the local hospital, which is understaffed and with limited resources. Shortly after, cult-like, hooded figures start appearing outside the hospital, while inside people start going murderously insane.
The Void is a minor horror movie that manages to pack an effective punch with its throwback to similar titles from the eighties.
Aaron Poole does a pretty good job in the lead role, flanked by Kenneth Walsh, Daniel Fathers, and Kathleen Munroe.
THE BOTTOM LINE: This movie doesn't break new ground in the horror canon, but doesn't totally disappoint either, and should generate a few good scares nonetheless.
