THE GIST: The promising political career of Anthony Weiner, congressman from New York for several consecutive terms and with his sights set on the Big Apple's Mayor's office, came to an abrupt halt when he was forced to resign is disgrace after news reports of him sending lewd pictures of himself to anonymous women he met online via Twitter turned out to be true. Two years later, he tried to resurrect his career, but those pictures and the likelihood that more would come to light stunned his chances, likely forever.
Weiner is a political documentary that you just can't stop watching nor shaking your head at every turn of events when you realize how promising, effective, and good a politician Anthony Weiner actually was.
He was very well liked by his supporters because he would stand up for the little guy and often improved the lives of his constituents.
Unfortunately, scandals of a sexual nature are often fatal in American politics, and his became only another name on a very long list that keeps being written to.
THE BOTTOM LINE: No matter your political affiliation, this is a good documentary, worth of your time, even just for its "train wreck" feel.
