Beach Rats

THE GIST: Frankie is a teenage guy with a bleak and dreary home life and a clique of friends who are usually up to no good. They experiment with drugs and usually just waste their days away. Frankie is also struggling with his own sexuality, as he juggles an interesting new girl with the older men he looks up online to hook up with.

Beach Rats is a pretty raw movie that deals with society's views of male sexuality and expectations in very realistic terms.

The cast is very good, led by Harris Dickinson, who is establishing himself as a pretty reliable talent in the industry.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Some scenes or themes might be a bit upsetting for some people, but this is a very good movie, especially for an LGBT+ audience.
