Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

THE GIST: On summer break, Harry is visited by a house-elf named Dobby, who warns him not to return to Hogwarts, for terrible things are going to happen. Harry ignores the advice, but when he's back at the school of magic he witnesses attacks on students and messages scrawled on walls in blood. Rumors swirl that he's the one responsible for opening the Chamber of Secrets, causing all this evil, so it'll be up to Harry and his two trusted friends to find the real culprit and save the school and its students.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second installment in the Potter franchise and builds on the lore from its predecessor, even edging it by a bit.

A well written script and excellent casting choices, with additions like Kenneth Branagh, Jason Isaacs, and Toby Jones among them, ensure a decidedly fun follow-up.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Our trio of magical friends is back to entertain us with an episode filled with threats and scares and plenty of good times.

Grade: 7.5
